Import your Goodreads library into Novelome

Two minutes: export the CSV from Goodreads, drop it into Novelome, and your history becomes a Reading DNA that tunes every recommendation.

Your Goodreads library is years of taste data. Novelome turns it into a Reading DNA — a taste profile built from what you loved (and what you didn't) — and uses it to tune every recommendation. Import takes about two minutes, ratings included.

Step 1 — Export your library from Goodreads

  1. Open Goodreads and go to My Books.
  2. In the left sidebar under Tools, click Import and export.
  3. Click Export Library. Goodreads generates a CSV file — download it when the link appears (usually under a minute).

Step 2 — Import it into Novelome

  1. Open the Novelome import page (or in the iOS app: Shelf → Import).
  2. Choose Goodreads CSV and select the file you downloaded.
  3. Done. Your books are matched against the full 43,000-book catalogue, your ratings carry over, and your Reading DNA is ready.

What you get after importing

Your Reading DNA — a visual taste profile you can share. Taste-matched stations — start from any book you loved and get a queue matched on pace, mood, and voice, each with the reason it fits. Unearthed picks — near-perfect matches most readers have never heard of.

No Goodreads account? You can also import Kindle clippings or just paste a list of titles — same two minutes, same result.

Common questions

Does the import keep my ratings?

Yes. Goodreads star ratings carry over and directly shape your recommendations — books you rated highly pull your Reading DNA toward what you love.

How long does the Goodreads export take?

Goodreads usually generates the CSV in under a minute. You'll see a download link appear on the Import and export page when it's ready.

What if some of my books aren't found?

Your books are matched against Novelome's 43,000-title catalogue. The rare misses are skipped and reported — they never block the rest of the import.

Can I import on my phone?

Yes — the iOS app has the same import (Shelf → Import), including Goodreads CSV and Kindle clippings.

Is my library private?

Yes. Your shelf and Reading DNA are yours; Novelome is cookieless by default and never sells reading data.
